Online event: Implications of COVID-19 on higher education and research in East Africa
The expected public health catastrophe in Africa related to COVID-19 was not seen. However, socio-economic and cultural implications have been experienced at different intensities. In the education and research contexts, the implications have been far reaching. Moreover, the role of digitalization and digital infrastructure in adapting to the new normal cannot be underestimated. In this session we will discuss on the consequences of COVID-19 for the university and research sector and reflect on the importance of digitalization, which is increasingly being used as a consequence of the pandemic.
